Judging Panel Announced!

Judging Panel Announced!

Hello again SPAMâ„¢ fans,

How would you like to gain feedback from a selection of top foodies on your culinary skills? Well, now’s your chance as I can finally reveal the judging panel of the 2010 SPAM® Cook of the Year competition! Made up of top food experts, I’ll certainly be in good company at the Good Housekeeping Institute in London on the 12th October!

My fellow judges and SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham lovers are:

Cathy Winston, blogger and food writer for Kitchendaily.co.uk;

Ben Dakin, resident food writer and personality behind ‘Ben’s Kitchen’ in Woman magazine;

Christine Parsons, Lifestyle Editor at Chat magazine;

A representative from Hormel Foods, the makers of SPAM® products.

Finalists from each of the seven regions will be chosen by the public, via the website’s online vote in September and from here, they will take go on to take part in an exciting cook-off at the final to be judged by the experts. The whole panel is really looking forward to the event, especially as we’ll get to sample all of the tasty dishes! It’s hard work but someone has to do it…

Remember, you have until the 31st August to upload your SPAM™-alicious creations, together with a picture (optional), via the SPAM® Fan Club – simply sign up at www.spam-uk.com and you could claim the title!

This year’s official SPAM® Cook of the Year winner will get a luxurious two night stay at an exclusive Oxford Hotels and Inns location in addition to a spa treatment and complimentary breakfast and dinner.

The victorious recipe will also form the basis of a dish on one of the hotel restaurant’s menus, giving the winner a real taste of what it’s like to have culinary fame! An additional prize has also just been added for the overall winner – an iPod touch!

For more updates, follow us on Twitter or join the SPAM® Cook of the Year contest group on Facebook for regular SPAM® product and merchandise giveaways!

Until next time budding chefs,

Phil Vickery
