Hi SPAMâ„¢ Fans!
Well, what an amazing journey the SPAM® Cook of the Year competition has taken us on. It seems like just yesterday I was here introducing myself and calling out for your creative recipes and now, we have a winner!
Shannon Stenning from Burgess Hill has claimed the coveted title and is your SPAM® Cook of the Year 2010!
Thanks to Shannon’s culinary skills and delicious SPAM® Rosti recipe, she was chosen as the overall winner at yesterday’s final cook-off at London’s Good Housekeeping Institute.
All of the finalists truly cooked up a storm and a good time was had by all, so well done to everyone.
Shannon’s tasty and original SPAM® Rosti will now go onto inspire a dish on an Oxford Hotels and Inns restaurant’s menu, and she can look forward to a luxurious two night stay at an exclusive Oxford Hotels and Inns location – in addition to a spa treatment, breakfast and dinner and a brand new iPod Touch filled up with apps!
I would also like to congratulate the two runners up, Chris Bailey from Colchester with his SPAM® Galettes recipe and Emma Robson from Great Yarmouth with her SPAM™MOUSSE and Melba Toast dish. Both runners up received a one night stay for two with breakfast, again courtesy of Oxford Hotels and Inns.
If you want to take a look, or even try your own hand at Shannon’s winning recipe, plus all of our other fantastic finalists’ dishes, you can check them out on here on the website.
So what do you think? Was the SPAM® Rosti your clear winner? Leave me a comment or visit our Twitter page and let us know!
Once again, a massive thank you to everyone that was involved – whether you entered, voted or encouraged others to get involved – we couldn’t have done it without you.
That’s all from me now so thanks for reading and finally, a last congratulations to our winner!
Phil.
