SPAM® Waffle with Cheese


  • 1 340g can SPAM® Chopped Pork & Ham
  • 340g Mild Cheddar cheese
  • 16 eggs
  • 2 litres buttermilk
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp baking soda
  • 4 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 240g sugar
  • 450g melted butter


  1. Beat eggs and add buttermilk. In a separate bowl, mix together dry waffle batter ingredients. Pour in wet egg and buttermilk mixture. Gently mix together until lumpy then fold in melted butter.
  2. Shred SPAM® Chopped Pork & Ham and cheese on a box grater.
  3. Heat a cast iron Belgian waffle maker to 350° and pour 6oz of waffle batter, once hot.
  4. Sprinkle 2 ounces of cheese and 2 ounces shredded SPAM® Chopped Pork & Ham over the cheese.
  5. Cook until waffle is browned and crispy.
